Spar launches breakfast promotion in UK
Spar is running a ‘We’re Famous for Breakfast’ marketing campaign across stores in the region of Spar retailer and wholesaler AF Blakemore.
The promotion highlights a range of breakfast items on special offer and is designed to raise awareness and drive sales of breakfast items including bacon and eggs, cereals and juice.
It includes leaflets and POS material featuring a ‘We’re Famous for Breakfast’ graphic.
Promotional wobblers will highlight products on offer in categories including sausage/bacon, fresh juice, morning goods, cereals, hot drinks and eggs. Brands and Spar own label products will feature in the promotion.
Ged Carter, marketing director, Spar Distribution at AF Blakemore, said: “Innovative promotions and merchandising are a key part of AF Blakemore’s strategy to drive footfall and stay ahead of the competition.
“The key rationale behind our ‘Famous for Breakfast’ promotion is to increase basket spend by raising awareness of breakfast lines and driving further sales of related items in different fixtures via cross-merchandising.”
The campaign will also be promoted on AF Blakemore’s promotional leaflets. Over 12m promotional leaflets are now distributed annually to 453 participating Blakemore Spar stores, an increase from 10 to l7 leaflets per year, and equivalent to one every three weeks.
“Trends for shopping locally are continually improving, and Spar stores across the UK are moving in the right direction thanks to their ongoing innovation,” said Carter. “With promotions like these, you can trust that Spar and AF Blakemore will continue to stay ahead of the game.”
